Is the hispanic/latino U.S. takeover a real threat?

We have a ton of Latinos, particularly from Mexico, in this country. I don't want to stereotype but they make a lot of babies - much more than Asians and whites. So between legal immigration, illegal immigration, and reproducing, it's the fastest growing demographic in the U.S.

Do you think that the U.S. will just turn into Mexico 50 years from now? 100 years?

This is a concern to me because it's a threat to my own personal lifestyle. I find that in general, Latino eccentric areas of a city are a bit dirtier, more dangerous, lower income, less educated. Of course there are exceptions, no doubt, but this is from what I observed.

Asking as a legit question. I'm an immigrant myself(legally) and I'm a tax payer.

I'm a democrat and I voted for Obama. I'm not white. I'm an immigrant but have citizenship. I work in the high tech industry and contribute a large sum of tax dollars each year.

It's a legit concern of mine.

I don't mean to offend anyone at all.

You're assuming race defines culture. The things you mentioned could have also been said about, say, the Irish during a certain time. It's because they were newer to the country and poorer.

Yes but it's not a threat. It wasn't that long ago when this country was all white and you and I were threats to the US. So GTFO, you won't be missed.

Threat to your own personal lifestyle?

It's not a 'latino takeover.' It's that white men in this country have left American culture and society and have stuck together in some weird tribalistic behavior. What we need to do is instruct these white men on how to re-assimilate back with Americans.

Just my opinion.

There defintely is a takeover threat from these people. They only care about themselves and not the country. The government must stop them from coming in otherwise its over

In HS history classes, I always wondered why the Irish/blacks/asians were treated badly in American history. Now I kind of understand it more.

It's because when a new demographic grows exponentially, it's a threat to your existing life style.

For example, for years, in the part of the city that I lived in, it was quiet, friendly, clean, safe. In recent years, a large population of Latinos moved in and suddenly, we have more crimes, more dangerous streets, dirtier streets, etc. When I was in school, I noticed that the Latinos were the trouble makers, often behaving with disrespect towards the teacher, other students and education in general.

From my point of view, I see Latinos as a threat because I thought my city was better in the past.

I may be wrong but it's what I see. I know some people are going to barge in here and give examples of how some Latinos are highly educated and contribute positively to the community - but what about the overall population?

For sure. We've always had xenophobic mow-rons, equal opportunity haters who despised anybody who wasn't them, beginning with the Pilgrims. They've hated anybody available- Catholics, Irish, Huguenots, Quakers, blacks, Chinese, Japanese, Swedes & Italians, too.

The Irish, Germans, Jews, etc didn't take over America. They joined it.
Same thing the Latinos are doing.

No, many of them from Mexico believes that parts of the US like Texas and California belong to them since it was stolen by Mexico. They are traitors to this country and should be tried and sent to jail. Pat Buchanan even warned about this and not many listened to him

It goes both ways. Prejudice against the newly arrived poor people means fewer opportunities and more poverty and a lack of assimilation. That cycle can take generations.

More like inevitable than a threat. MANY analysts have already said they will be the majority in a couple generations.

It only a threat if you think legal immigrants and Latinos aren't real Americans. If you do think that then you aren't aware of our countries racial background and our history of immigration. And that just makes you an idiot.

takeover of what? our country is based on foreign people coming here to live.

I shouldn't have worded my title the way I did. I should have asked "is it better for the existing U.S. population for more Latinos to come over?"

I'm very aware of this rebuttal. I'm not not trying to be racist. I could careless about their color.

I just want better educated, safer, and cleaner people living around me. Does that make me an idiot?

You mean to say that Latino people are dumb, dangerous and dirty? You're a fucking racist, sir.

Never said that. Just my own personal observations, sir. I'm not racist at all.

Is there a way where I can show me displeasure without looking like a racist?

Edit: I don't believe they are dumb, dirty, and dangerous at all. It has to do with their culture, in my opinion. If you give a latino guy the same education, he'd be just as smart as any other ethnicity. Asians are not smarter by nature. It's their culture that preach studying and education.

Thus, I regret wording the title of this thread the way I did. I should have asked "is it better for the existing U.S. population for more Latinos to come over?"
