Is the HD 2600 XT good at shading?

Please no 8800 people please. I know 8800 GT is a better card but I am talking about the 2600 XT.

For games like Crysis, is 2600 XT a card that would be willing to handle the shading setting on high?

i own a 2600XT 256mb GDDR4 - expect to play crysis at 1024 with most settings on medium (i think i did shaders on high). you're better off with something like an 8800, 3850, etc. which are significantly more powerful (and much cheaper than before. i think hot deals had an 8800GS or GT for $77 AR)

Ive got the 512 version of the 2600 XT. plaing it on Crysis and oblivion i didnt really have a problem with shading. as i had them on high settings. but also have a AMD dualcore clocked @ 3.0gb, with 2Gb Gskill, and a HIS Iceq 2600 512 128bit card.
to tell you the truth it ran crysis better then the EVGA 8800gtx i bought for it.
im not an 8800 fan anymore, i switched from Nvidia to ATi, not that im bashing either, its just ATi cards work better for me. deliver the performance i want.

but as far as shading goes, wont be a problem with you if you know what your doing.

I have not been on here in a while, but that mangled my face up somethin' fierce.

I hope I am not changing your mind or thread crapping etc., but maybe an HD4850 with a good discount might be up your alley?

Depends really, is this for yourself, a child, a friend? I say you are fine with what you have chosen but a little extra cash can go a long way in this situation.

Just my 2 cents.

+1

for a couple bucks more you can have a lot more performance. The HD2600 is not a good card for crysis
