Is the game "Soldier of Fortune" any good?

I got it for free, and am wondering whether i should install it or not. what type of game is it? is it any good?

3D-shooter. With single-player you're on a mission. Pretty nice game, although the graphics are already a bit outdated.

Good game, VERY gory, is it the GOLD version? If not get the GOLD patch, basically updates a few bugs.

Yeah, after you learn all the ways to kill someone, it basicly becomes a "see how many limbs you can shoot off before they hit the ground" game.

Interesting death animations:

Shooting someone in the neck with the sniper rifle

Shooting someone in the midsection of the torso with the shotgun at close range

Shooting any limb with the 44magnum

Shooting someone in the head with the 44 magnum or the shotgun at close range

Shoot someone in the groin

In SOF2 there are going to be more body 'zones' for when you shoot them. Plus its looks a whole lot better, think its supposed to be out later this year, but i'm not certain.

its a bit boring... the body zones are fine, but... all the weapons just blow the baddies up.
