Is the G400 MAX worth the extra $50 ?

Is the G400 MAX worth the extra $50 in terms of performance boost as compared to the G400 ? (Im a normal gamer, not the frantic Quaker who playes all day long !!!)

The easiest way to answer that is to check the benchmarks and see whether the extra FPS you get at your desired gaming resolution is worth 50bucks...

If I'm not mistaken, it has a faster RAMDAC than plain vanilla G400s which translates into better 2D quality. I could be wrong on this, but if I'm right I'd say it's worth the extra money.

Only better image quality at higher resolutions, but Dualhead would gain alot by that extra 60mhz ramdac, because both displays share the ramdac.

Most review show the MAX outperforming the vanilla G400, so I guess yes.

All G400 are a complete waste of money now go with a DDR,GTS or a cheaper and better MX!

The G400MAX is still a fine performer in all games (given you've got a 550MHz+ CPU), and outperforms a GeForce SDR in most games. Not to mention Dual-Head and superior image quality.

But, what I'd recommend is wait for the G800 if you can. It's gonna be a killer.
