Is the G2 still one of the best phones out currently?

I recently got one, thanks to the advice here.
However, the speaker broke, and then today I drop the phone and the screen went blank.
So, back in the market for a phone...
Suggestions?

It's still a good phone for T-Mobile. You can pick one of those up or a Nexus S. There's better phones coming out soon, within the next few weeks but since you need a phone now, it's still a top one.

Read the specs carefully on the TMO phones. With purchase by AT&T, their 3G bands are being repurposed for AT&T's LTE network. I believe the G2x supports AT&T's 3G bands, but the G2, Vibrant, and myTouch 4G do not. I'm not sure about the Vibrant 4G. Just something to watch out for.
