look at this weirdness


when I clicked my normal IE bookmark, http://subscriber.anandtech.com/categories.cfm?catid=40

which is hot deals, it brought me to forum issues, i clicked on the first thread, and this is what i saw

I was a mod just now for a few minutes :cool:


now it's back to normal:

that was the only thread that had that.... if I clicked on anything else, then it was normal

haha, I've been thinking that quick reply has been a new feature for the forums for a while. (Stopped visiting, came back with firebird). I just fired up IE and no quick reply. Nice, how is firebird able to pull that off though?

It's fairly easy atm to edit other people's posts. All you have to do is guess the message id. And an easy way to do that is reply look at that id and then step back a few and you'll hit the one you want. The ids are unique for the forums though, so a 5 day old post would be pretty hard to guess the number for.

Is this in Issues yet?

You don't have to guess when the forums are f'ed up. just copy-paste the link. Thankfully Fusetalk saw this error coming which checks the member ID before allowing an edit.

oh, and according to the email i just got from a mod, i'm supposed to be banned right now. banned for 2 weeks starting on 10/02... for posting a link to nudity. i dont get it.

It is available to IE users. It is just disabled by default. Click on the Red Arrow at the top of any thread.
