Is the dfi ultra-d a bad board for a first time builder?

I bought the DFI nF4 Ultra-D as my first build and got some OCZ Value VX ram. I haven't done any overclocking yet (still reading to learn more about it, heh) and just loaded optimized defaults for now. I haven't had any problem with anything in the system. I've been playing games nonstop for the past two or weeks I"ve had the computer. Also the dfi-street forums are great and they were able to help me out with a few noob issues that I was having, (like how I connected the floppy drive cable upside down, lol).

(crazy people, like me. Other people just buy/build PCs and *use* them )

my $0.02 after further thinking i'd say this board is AS WELL suited for a newcomer. Eg. there are people who do not even overclock etc...i dont think they will have problems running everything at stock, latest bios etc.

And avoid "known" problem brands like eg. Corsair memory where people "say" there are problems.

It just gets time-intensive ONCE you start to overclock and tweak the last bit out of the board because there are so MANY options.

But then many options should not be a BAD thing <---

if i knew a BETTER board i would tell you...but i dont !

Lots of annoying jumpers you gotta set H

the only jumper i set once in a while is to clear CMOS in case i screwed something up.

Otherwise i dont know what jumpers you're talking about.

That's some good ram you got there. Just be sure to do a little research if you ever decide to overvolt them. CH5 can be pain at first, but the end result is well worth it.

reading flexy and trapper back to back like that shows what this board is about imo.

you got a noobish (no offense intended) builder buying good parts and running well at stock, no tweaking yet, just gaming and enjoying.

then you got a mad man like flexy who tweaks the hell out of it. i remember his post on XS i think complaining when he couldn't get his ram over 289 2.5-3-3-7 1:1 i think it was ( i have the thread saved somewhere, it was a good read). of course he's happy as hell too.
