I choose a Q6600, Evga 680i, and 8800 GTX.
But when it came to the PCU I have only one option in my region, powerfull enough, but I'm not sure if it is SLE ready. I mean the Chieftec CFT-850-14C, 850W PCU. Can anyone help me out with an advise ?

Thx a lot.

Welcome to AT Forums !!

Where are you located ?

Keep in mind that "SLI Ready" just means that they greased the NVIDIA Palm... There are 600 watt PSU's that are SLI Ready that could not run Two High end 8800's.

I'll try to investigate that PSU and will post back

Edit : http://www.chieftec.com/tower-power.html looks like it is SLI certified, and that PSU should do the job fine........ it has two 30 amp rails and two 18 amp rails.

Thanks a lot for the quick reply. i appologise for being late with the reply I really had some problems with login in to the forum... now everything is fine.

Well about my location, I'm located exactly on the other side of the planet, in the Republic of Moldova. So youcan Imagine that the products we haev here are not the same with the one on your market.

I've seen these days the box of the Chieftec 850W, and it has on it the logo of the SLI Ready, well this probably means that it will support a double GTX 8800.
The other question is if 850W would be enough? Maybe I should stick to a couple of 8800GTS of 640 superclocked instead?

Please advise.

thx

That is so true!! I remember when I bought my first real PSU-- PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 510.....
I was going to use 2 video cards and I asked about that exact same thing and the tech guy who is my friend told me almost the exact same thing that you said Mr Fox!!
