My wife's boss asked what I would suggest for a DC. She needs it for her son's birthday... TOMORROW!

I'm thinking she should buy it from somebody who will price match it later. My first thought was Sears. I'm going to call and see if they have that S230 in stock. They list the A60 as well as a big jump to the S50. I don't have any price to shoot for, so I'm just looking for bang for the buck. Sears will match most internet prices within reason.

They also have Sony's, but no Zeiss lens units till you're in the $600.00+ range. At least not listed online. Am I on the right track so far?

I got 'em on the phone now. What kind of price should I be trying to get it down to?

Edit: Great, three in stock. I'll worry about the price later!

I'm sold, but it may be more than she wants to spend. I'm seeing $304.00 from NewEgg shipped. She'll be paying $350.00 at Sears before the price match. I was hoping Staples might have it for that price with a $50.00 coupon or something. Last I heard, they won't match price AND allow a coupon. I'll have to check OM or OD and see what can be done with them.

Thanks!

Edit: I gotta scoot. I'll see her in about an hour on The GoodTime II

I got mine for real cheap at Dell...$180 shipped.

It takes nice pics! Anyone got an idea how to set the ISO mode?

The S230 for $180? That wouldn't be cheap, that'd be theft.

At Dell's regular hot deal prices, I think the S400 is worth another $100ish over the S230.
