Lol all the Republican punditry that Newsom would be chastened by the challenge really going up in smoke today. He signed SB9 & SB10.

California Dems are moving to put changes to the recall provision on the ballot in 2022. Moving the signature threshold up from 12% to 25% seems to be the leading idea.

Now THIS would be a reasonable voter suppression. Recalls are stupid, too easy to start, cost way too much, always unjustified, and comes down to a simple case of sour grapes.

Saying that, it's kinda sad she will never get her chance.

With the end in sight it's quite clear Republicans got absolutely smoked in the recall

Related fallout from the mantra that elections are fraudulent which portends problems beyond CA:

It is interesting how the polling manages to get it so wrong all the time.

I think the polling is done by good people with good intentions. Something is just broken in how they go about doing them.

Does it really though? Polling seems highly accurate to me.

Or people who respond to polls lie for one reason or another.

Really?

If the polls had been 'highly accurate' The Evil HildaBeast would have smoked The Don in '16 and the Dems would have gained a clear majority in both the House and Senate in '20.

Personally, I think the Polls suck.

They were off by a couple points, it was within a regular polling error.

The polls are good, the issue is that people mistakenly believe they should be perfect.

I wonder it is a matter that the polling does not account for voter suppression very well.

Everyone is happy to go ahead and vote, until all the non-republicans find out they are going to be waiting in line for 5 hours to do it. Really takes the wind out of the sails to go vote when it is an all day stand in line affair.

The republicans on the other hand typically have no line or wait at all. It just skews it.

Then they try to correct the skew and it skews the other way in a state like CA where mail in voting is a thing.

or maybe it is something else entirely, like people not wanting to admit on the phone they are evil.
