Is the bank going to do anything to me?

I'm going to the bank today to deposit a rather large check due to retiring from my old job and I was just wondering if they are going to have to verify it or make me fill out forms and stuff? I was thinking about just using the ATM drop off, but that would suck big time if it got lost.

long as it is drawn on the company acocunt, you jusut won't have access to the funds until it clears through their bank

Mostly likely a hold on the check, length depending on the routing number.

Yes, just a hold on the check. I think it is 3-5 days here, could be different there.

If its in a check, and you don't cash a large portion (ahem...cough....$10,000+), they won't do anything. They can put a hold on the funds for as long as they think it will take the check to clear, but you won't have to fill anything out.

..atm works fine..sign the back and indicate "for deposit only" and be done wit it.
