Is the Antec Twelve Hundred worth it?

I wouldn't pay over $150 for it. I have one and wouldn't have purchased it if it wasn't on sale. I would recommend the HAF instead. If it was at a lower price point, I would say grab it, but it isn't. It is a great case and all, I love it, but not worth what most always ask for it.

HELL YEAH. tho I got mine for 154 shipped off newegg 5 months ago.

I have pics a few threads down titled "Modded my Antec 1200 window"

The 1200 is one of the most well-built cases I have ever owned. It's a bit heavy, but the build quality is outstanding. No flimsy metal parts anywhere and tremendous airflow.

I make it a habit to clean out the fan filters at least once every other week, which some may find to be a pain, considering you have to take both side panels off, and unscrew each and everything 3.5" mounting bay, which is about 12 thumbscrews per side, totaling 24 thumbscrews all together. Which gives you a chance to open it up, wash out the dust filters, and do some dusting on the inside while you're waiting for fan filters to dry. I always wash mine with water, and then let them sit on a towel for an hour or so before putting back in. With the amount of airflow the 1200 provides, dust is inevitable. I've done a great job at maintaining the 'fresh build' look since I bought it in August 2008. A bit of routine maintenance will be in order to stay on top of the dust.

And the cable management is just superb. Plenty of holes in the motherboard wall to run/hide cables. Keeps the case looking nice and clean, and also helps airflow.

I snagged it when it was on sale at Microcenter for $150 last summer. $180 is a bit steep, so, it's your call. At the time, I probably would have paid an extra $30 for the 1200, since I wanted it very badly. It's a fantastic case, and well worth the price. I don't see myself ever buying a different case for my main builds. I'll be sticking with Antec's line of full tower cases from now on. I used to have a Lian-Li, and although it was good, I got very very very tired of its plain look.

Couple more pics of mine in action (I badly need to get that IDE DVDRW out of there).

Definately worth it. But then again I can't stand cases with non-painted interiors. Just looks cheap to me.

They are all black....

😕 😕 😕 😕

As far as taking both panels off to clean the filters, all I did was remove all thumb screew from the other side so I dont have to take off the back panel to remove the bays, and I only left 2 screw per square bay, that's all the screw you need, I'm only using 6 screw, it's not like this case is moving anywhere or in motion, so the drives dont have to be fully secured 😛

how are the interior panels on the 1200? ar the edges rolled? or are they left sharp? i know my last TT case was sharp as hell, is there enough space behind the motherboard to fit the 24pin PSU cable?
is there a slide out MB tray?
is there a cutout on the MB tray to easily swap out back plates if necessary?

thanks guys!

looking to sell my Lian Li V1000

1) The edges are nice and smooth. Never had a cut or scrape from it.
2) Yes, you can fit a PSU cable behind the mobo wall and right panel. You can fit tons of cables back there, actually.
3) No slide out mobo tray.
4) No cutout on the mobo wall.

True

All my cables are on the back of the mobo tray except of course the ones that must come out for the vid card and IDE drives.

Before the 1200 I cheaped out and bought some 60$ case, it was aluminum, FAIL, sharp ass edges, FAIL, flimsy and warped and wobbled under little force. FAIL

The 1200 was just amazing when I got it, IMO it's perfect, meets all my needs and I have zero complaints, I only use one HDD so I don't care much sideways HDD trays etc...

i was reading up and researching between the haf932 and the 1200 and ultimately decided o nthe HAF932 because of:

- more options and customization of fans
- more routing options for cables behind the MB
- cutout on MB backplate for easy work on heatsink/waterblocks
- ability to mount my 3x120mm radiator on the roof without any modifications to the case
