Is the Antec P182 still a good case?

My old computer blew up so am building a new computer.

It'll save me a bit if I use the Antec P182 for my new I7 2600k build.

Yeah they came out with a P183 that added a USB 3.0 cable which just is suppose to loop back to the rear of any motherboard and plug into the back of it which is fairly clunky.

Most people were looking for an internal USB 3.0 header to plug directly into a motherboard.

Even the P193 has the same setup so your P182 is not really outdated by any means.

I'm still using a P182 with the rig in my sig. The video cards are a bit tight... but they went in with relatively little fuss.

Very nice case just a little small and hot for my tastes. Still have one in my room that I'd sell if shipping weren't so damn crazy.

I gave my P182 to my parents, they still have a modest configuration in that box, it's extremely quiet and while not for heavy gamer due to lack of fans is excellent for everyone else. and did I say how quiet it is? it;s a great case.

What would you guys recommend as a replacement if I want something much better in the cooling department, has more room behind for cable management, and still very quiet?

My modified P180 is still rocking.

I removed both drive bays and assorted guides, then suspended my hard drive using Stretch Magic in front of the PSU. That chamber has foam baffles in the front half.
In the center section I have a 120mm YL D12SL-12 baffled as well. Then I have a Scythe Kama Bay in the upper section with again, more baffling to quiet down the fans around the CPU cooler (Ninja rev. B).
Air guides using styrene cut to fit, and some thick foam on the bottom and rear of the main chamber.
Fan grilles got removed, holes cut in and grommeted for cable management, front panel ports replaced with the P182 set (for HD audio) and all the fans soft mounted.

Handles the E3110 and 4870 fine for now :) Plus I can't hear it. Obvious SPCR inspired build :p

Suspended hard drive? A true spcr reader would have an SSD by now! :p

Pics please! Would like to see this.

Curious what people will recommend in this thread. I have a P182 which I still enjoy, although I have crap cable management, the cooling and noise is fine for my purposes with the 1200rpm Scythe fans. Thinking Corsair 650D, friend went P182>650D and is enjoying it. Would definitely want a solid side panel though.

p182 here.

added an extra fan taking out 3 of the 4 5.25" drive bays with a scythe fan mount.

dunno if it was really necessary, but it keeps my passively cooled x4 945 and 5770 fairly cool.
