I was reading a web page that had the age of consent for several places. Canada was 14! Is that correct? :Q

All of these years of pointless Canada bashing...
Just kidding, it wasn't pointless. :Q

<< Why are you wondering. >>

I'm not planning any sex trips to BC, (no I swear, I swear) but I just thought that was really young. :)

That's interesting how you brought this up. This one girl told me that it was like 16 or 18. So I had the impression that it was somewhere around 16~18 all these years.

Oh well. I prefer older women now any ways. ;)

It is 13 in Korea. :Q:Q:Q

That is so odd. I wonder if this has to do with the social conditions in the 50s, 60s and 70s. :(

Ah. Korea changed the law in 2001 to 19.

It's odd that a society that is very "unopen" about sex had an age of consent of 13 for such a long time.

A funny read was the age of consent laws in Iran.
I like how it juxtaposes fines, lashes and the death penalty. They do give you 4 choices of how to die if you happen to be gay.
The age for Hetro girls and boys there is 16.

I believe @ the age of 14, sheep can consent to interspecies relations in Canada:D

Canada, where men are men & sheep are nervous;) Isn't that the national motto?

I don't think that's right. I lived in Cananda for 5 years and a few of my buddies were caught and slapped on the wrist.

<< Until a year ago, it was 12 in kansas! :Q >>

That's funny, I live in Kansas right now - as I have all my life - and the age of consent here has been 16 for as long as I can remember. I just did a news search five years back and I couldn't find any story proving what you said. Link?

<Edit> Maybe you're thinking about common law marriages (which are about to be changed to a minimum age of 18): Since 1913, Kansas courts have declared the common law age of consent for marriage is 14 for boys and 12 for girls, meaning that they don't need the permission of their parents or guardians.

I do believe it is 14. Its surprising how many 14 year olds practice this legality also...and I live in a nice commuter town...

You are correct, my mistake. I was thinking of the age of consent for marriage.
