Is the 8800gts-gtx that much better?

I'm just nervous after looking at benchies that the GTS won't be all that much faster than my 1900xt... XFX invalidates your warranty if you OC--I dunno how they would know though.

any comparison benchies for two 8800 in sli vrs two x1900 in crossfire? also can the D975XBX run two 8800 in sli? i read about some sound issues with alot of mobo's and sli 8800's.

You should be able to overclock a GTS to 650/900. I can get mine to 659/950 and still be 100% stable. Playing Medieval 2 at 1600x1200 16xAA/16xAF, everything maxed (huge unit size), and the game is consistently 50+ fps, with occasional drops into the high 20s with 2000+ units onscreen in city sieges with fire.
