I want to buy it from ZZF this coming weekend however I don't know if AMD is still producing this chip or if they stopped making it. I thought it just came out so I am hoping that production is widespread.

While I don't remember reading anything at all about the single-cores, AMD is definitely no longer making 2x1MB L2 cache dual-cores.

AMD no longer manufactures any chip with 1mb of cache except for the Opterons because of yields. This includes all single and dual cores. I hear the X2 4400 is a great chip, though. I think Newegg has some.

I scurried to get my 4800+ because it and my present 4400+ were being put on the non-production block by AMD.
AFAIK, the 4200+, 4600+, and 5000+ will still be made. AFAIK too, My 4800+ and 4400+ are the last of the 1MB L2 cache.

Yup. They've got some 2x1mb AM2s floating around, but most have been snapped up already.

If the X2s run out (I think I'm goin with the 89w version for Christmas) then there's always the Opteron. Trusty server parts.

That's still a good price on that 4800+. One should get going before they're gone. I'm surprised that Newegg still has an inventory yet.
