Your picture doesn't show the entire word document. What I mean by that is the image of the page. WYSIWYG. Picture of a paper.

i hate that view. and why do you need to see the margins? wasted white space. are you one of those people that fullsizes a browser window and only uses the left half of their monitor because the web page is designed for 800x600?

That view is what we're talking about and that's the view people refer to when discussing displaying side by side image.

2x docs side bye side on 2001fp

Doesn't fit.

Word doc showing page

If you can justify 3x 2005fpw, go for it. I personally can't.

I paid $800 for my 2001fp a year and half ago. It's now around $400. 2405 will be $500 or under in 2 years or less too. I can easily wait.

aphex, going to super high resolution on a mac mini may be detrimental. the video card on them is decent but not that great. all of the OSX GUI is now hardwre accelerated, so you may start to see some problems at higher resolutions.
it is however ultimately up to you whether to get the 24inch or 20inch widescreen.

what i have.
2x 2001FP at home: games. single document work.
2005fp at work: spreadsheets, working on two papers or looking at source code and documentation at same time

Well i've actually been able to play with both the 20" and 23" cinema display on the mini...

The only slowdown is during expose, and it still works on the 23", its just choppier...

I still recommend the 2001

because it is the same height as the 2405 FP

if you ever decide to get a 2405FP the 2001FP will line up great next to it

try doing that with a 2005FPW, it will look retarded as shown the pic you posted before

<---------- 2x2001FP right now

and planningt on getting a 2405FPW as the centerpiece in the near future :)

But the 2001 isnt as wide as the 2005, therefore making side by side documentation harder...

Ya know what, i think ive come to realize that the 24" is NOT worth $500-600 more for me.... Hell, thats as much as my damn MacMini is gonna cost.... for 4 extra inches? Im gonna go with the 2005 the next sale that comes around (unless of course the 2405 goes on sale as well)

seriously. Or with that extra $600 you could even build a pretty good PC... or buy a really badass videocard... you want that x800xt *drool*
