Guaranteed 4 day weekend (for most)
No hectic stress inducing presents
Huge dinner (often the best of the year)
Football galore
etc etc etc

I miss thanksgiving dinner. I love turkey, especially leftover turkey.

Same here, nothing like the two little ones seeing all the presents, and assorted xmas traditions.

Though it does add the to present-stress level
Of course my kid wants the IMPOSSIBLE to find Lego Hoth Playset.
If anyone finds one buy and Santa will buy it from you!!! :)

I love Thanksgiving. You might be right about it being at the top of the holiday heap. Start with the traditional mountain bike ride with a thousand other happy people. Get home to family, good food, and relaxation time, with three more days off to come. So nice.

The "no hectic stress" part only applies when you're not the one hosting that huge dinner.

the bolded ones are fairly contradictory.

id say halloween is the best. parties whether it falls on a weekday or not, you get to dress up and kids get free candy. the best part is that the adult female costumes get skimpier every year.

edit:

i do like xmas too, especially the kid part of it. mine are 10, 10 and 13 now, they have been trying to prove santa is me for 2 years now... i still tell them they are crazy

The Ralphs supermarket employee I spoke with today loves Thanksgiving as she gets triple her hourly wage.

It's definitely my second favorite. On Christmas, I still get to eat a lot except I get to see my family. Also,
giving and getting presents is always fun.

Yes, to me it is by far the best US holiday :)

Living in a border town, the holiday atmosphere spills over. The big game is right across the river. I can see Ford Field from my office window. There are planes flying around pulling banners. I'm sure there are hundreds of AWESOME tailgate parties going on right now.

I'm leaving the office @ 11:15 to go grill up some burgers and sausage and drink some beers!! Go Lions!!

Yes, US Thanksgiving is by far my favourite US holiday!! :D

Happy Thanksgiving to all the Americans!
