Is Super PI enough?

I still use P95 on all of my systems, but I was wondering how good of a stability test Super PI actually is. If it passes the 32M test...how stable is it? Which components does Super PI stress more heavily?

All I know is that I can pass superPI 32M at higher mhz than Prime95.

SuperPi is stressful, but it doesn't quite stress your CPU as much as Prime does. I figure this because even if I pass superpi32M at 2920mhz, I can't pass Prime95 for even one minute (for both cores in my case), and 3DMark05 crashes at that speed also- but superpi can run all day.

I guess if I wanted to fool myself, I could just use superpi32M as my only test, and I could say I'm "2920mhz stable" - but that simply isn't the case because Prime95 won't work at that speed (with my current voltage at least).

Superpi is a great stress tester of the memory controller of the A64's......I would not call it a definitive cpu tester but it will weed out flaky cpu ocing as fast as prime95...superpi test is just not long enough to weed out the type of cpu issues that prime95 gets to.....

I recommend using superpi 32mb as a nice "preliminary" stress tester to use as you are climbing initially on a new cpu you are ocing.....ONce you find your basic limit start using prime95 to fin tune...finally then run the apps you will run aon a daily basis...

I let F&h run for 1 to 2 weeks EEU free, as well as run a few 2 pass high setting encodings of videos as another stress tester....

Other quick test that can be used as "preliminary testers" are OCCT (not mutithreaded, so run like a 32mb superpi with it), S&M (multithreaded and will peg the hottest temp you have ever seen on your chip at that speed), and loops of 3dmark01SE...

That's exactly what I've been using it for. The 32mb test finished but prime failed after about 30 minutes. I figure if it passes the 32mb test...I'm atleast close to becoming stable.
