"Sugar's good, but hey baby, how's about some fresh syrup? And it's got even fewer calories per gram than sugar."

9 out of 10 posts made by theflyingpig end with "Everyone knows this."

7/10 posts made by theflyingpig have just 3 sentences.

8/10 posts made by theflyingpig are apparently little more than elaborate attempts to simply say "FIRST!!!" in a thread.

😕

Series of ads from 50s, 60s, and I think 70s from Sugar Information Inc. Propaganda based partly on the reasoning and science of the time. Not too different from ads you see today, actually.

I'm off to go drink some corn syrup. Talk to you guys later.

EDIT: Looks like Sugar Information was (no surprise) run by the Sugar Accociation, which is still around ( http://www.sugar.org/ ).

The Sugar Association, headquartered in Washington, D.C., states that its mission "is to promote the consumption of sugar as part of a healthy diet and lifestyle through the use of sound science and research."It engages in public relations on behalf of its member companies, encouraging the use of sugar. Member companies consist of sugar producers in the U.S.
