My friends thing works but I cannot add Steam keys. My guess is that the new Android Humble bundle took that server down. I'm sure it's temporary.

Steam works for me, but the server browser is not working... In-game server browsers that use the Steam API (so basically all Source based games) are also not working.

I feel like I'm in the stone age right now. I can't install tomb raider because of this crap. It's been this way for 3 hours.

It's having a scheduled maintenance I believe, saw it on Dota 2 subreddit.

Google it.

Yes, apparently with no ETA for when it will be over. The tweet at 3:41 PST just said:

"We'll be performing maintenance on #Steam servers today, Tuesday, March 5th, 2013 at approximately 16:00 PST (GMT-0800)"

. . . with no updates in the 5 hours since then, and no link to anywhere else to check the status.

This seems like something beyond scheduled maintenance. It's been down for a really long time. At least I'm catching up on my Witcher 1 playthrough.

It wasn't down at 6pm last night. I was on it till 1am EST doing stuff and was on it pretty much all day yesterday doing stuff and am currently on it now. Try hitting up their forums and see if others are having problems?

Ok, if anyone else is having this problem. Go to programfiles/steam/ and delete the clientregistry.blob Then double click the steam icon in the folder to launch.

Should update that file and work perfectly afterwards.

Working fine here. It gets slow every once in a while, but never as bad as it was 5-6 years ago. Nothing but praise for steam from me.
