Jabar Gaffney traded to Washington for some no name DE
Hmm, lose Rice and gain McNabb; not sure that evens out. I'd rather we went for Orton, but hopefully McNabb can at least give some guidance to Ponder for a year or two.

Can anyone tell me anything about the guy the Broncos received (Jarmon)? Sad to see Gaffney go, he's got talent.
"Jeremy Jarmon scouting report from 2009
a scouting report i found from SMSG's Football Player Scouting Reports Archive....for whatever it's worth, lol
Stength: Jeremy Jarmon has at times been one of those rare defensive ends who can dominate games against major college competition. He plays smart and is very nimble for his size.
Weakness: Jeremy Jarmon has very raw technique, often getting by on superior quickness. Jarmon was used mainly as an attacking defensive end, rather than in containment schemes, in college.
Development: Jeremy Jarmon doesn't have top defensive end size, speed, or quickness at the NFL level, but he figures to be above average in all three areas after spending some time bulking up in the weight room. He was seen as a top 10 defensive end for the 2010 draft, and the Redskins drafted him to basically hold down the end of the bench until 2010. In other words, the Redskins view him as a future star at the DE position, who is very raw at the present. The hope is that by the start of 2010 Jeremy Jarmon will be ready to step in as a pass-rush defensive end on passing downs and become an every down big-play defensive lineman by 2011."

Here is his scouting report from 2009
Here is some more info for you

Bottom line is that Gaffney would have been cut, so we got some depth at a position of need for a player that would have walked to FA any way. We are deep at WR and need DT/DE on our D-line. This guy is said to play both. Probably just a depth guy but you never know.
Keep an eye on Eric Decker and Matt Willis. Willis is going to be good and Decker is often compared to McCaffrey of old
I was REALLY pulling for the Vikes to sign Vince Young.

Orton is a good solid player. he will never be "elite" but dpendable. i think his numbers would be better if he wasn't in Chicago for so long. I think Lovie screwed him over by keeping him 2nd string to sexy rexy.
What's the latest on the Brett Favre saga? I heard a month or two ago that he was yet again considering coming out of "retirement."
I am an Orton fan. He manages a game VERY well, remember the WIND game. It was a couple years back. He was a wizard in that game. He is underrated

Pats gonna have a KILLER d line
I'm actually excited about Haynesworth as a Pats fan... BB has proved he can turn around malcontents over the years (Corey Dillon/Randy Moss).
When Haynesworth gave a shit, he was THE best D-linemen... he was so dominant with his pass rush that i wouldn't worry about not having an edge rusher if he goes back to his old self.
Edit: Someone said a 2013 5th round pick is like finding money on the street and using it to bet at a casino on this tradeGreat analogy. Only 5 million against the cap for the pats this season and it's Haynesworth's last chance.
C'mon Cowboys, get to it!

Kolb will get a new contract extension of five years for $63 million, with a little more than $22 million guaranteed. Kolb will be under contract for six years.
The Eagles receive cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a second-round pick.
