I was doing some homework in the math lab earlier -- which doesn't have any form of Centurion Lock or anything similar on the computers -- and I noticed my compy had a hijacker on it. It wasn't one I was familiar with (redirects everything through emch.com at IE start, and occasionally goes to smartsearch.cc) I tried to get to merijn.org to see if there was an updated CWShredder that handled it, but it gave me a DNS error. I figured it was the hijacker, so I tried spywareinfo. Same thing. I finally got hijackthis from somewhere else and removed as much of it as I could determine was the hijacker. But screw it, it's the IT department's problem anyway.
The thing is though I'm home now and I tried to go to merijn.org. Same problem. spywareinfo.com as well. I don't have any suspicious activity on my compy -- more to the point I don't use IE -- but I still can't get there. I'm wondering if the latest CWS variant has a DDoS component to it. Wouldn't surprise me from the bastards at CWS. Really, anybody in Russia with a fondness for killing assholes needs to put them on their list.
Anyway, is it just me?
