Is Sprint coming out with any killer smartphones this year?

My contract with Sprint will be up in a few months. Right now their best phone is the HTC Hero, which is a year old. Anyone know if any good smartphone is coming out for Sprint this year or should I just switch carrier?

HTC Supersonic is supposed to be a top of the line Android phone similar to the Nexus One but with slightly different specs and WiMAX and probably coming out in early summer but no official date is announced. Also the Hero isn't their best current phone. There's the Moment and the Pre.

Yeah I like my Moment. It'll eventually get Android 2.1, just not right away. Still on 1.5 for the time being, which is fine with me.

And it's fast. I see a lot of people recommending the HTC Hero over the Samsung Moment on Sprint. Don't really understand that myself. The only thing the Hero has over the Moment is HTC Sense UI and a slightly more attractive design. But the Moment has a hardware keyboard, an LED flash, and the most important thing, a faster CPU! The Hero has the same 528 MHz CPU that the G1 had.

The Supersonic is going to be awesome if it's all it's rumored to be (especially if you live in a city with WiMax). Rumor has it more like an Android version of the HTC HD2 than the Nexus One (same basic hardware, but the HD2 has a bigger screen).

There's also a rumored new Palm WebOS phone w/ WiMax launching on or around the Pre's 1-year anniversary. That'd put it launching around June 6.

I'm a huge WebOS fan, so I'm hoping a new Palm phone would go after the Nexus One directly with a larger screen and Snapdragon CPU.

I was just in the sprint store activating my new phone (Hero, wanted the slimmer than moment phone and larger than pre screen)

The employees were talking about what's coming out. Supposedly, 2.1 coming to hero and moment March 15th, supersonic in June, but WiMax isn't coming to the Los Angeles area for over a year.

And another smart phone or 2 before June, but I wasn't super plugged into the conversation, I already had my new phone.

Sprint HTC HeroFirmware 2.1 update is coming on 03/26/2010.
I just got of the phone with the advanced support at sprint becuase my phone did not have any service since this morning. They tried all the basic trouble shooting and then said that they had seen this issue before but that the new firmware will address this issue they also stated that reactivating the phone is a work around for now. I kept on asking about the firmware release and they finally released a date for the 2.1 firmware. He stated and confirm that this update will come on 03/26/2010.

I've heard that too but who knows for sure. It's not like Sprint, HTC, Samsung, Google, or anyone else has made any official announcement beyond "spring 2010."
