is spamarrest a real service?

I emailed someone on craigslist and got this reply soon after:

larry here, I'm protecting myself from receiving junk mail. Please click the link below to complete the verification process. You have to do this only once.

http://www.spamarrest.com/blahblahblah

I'm just wondering if this is a legit service or if I'm signing myself up for crap by clicking on that stuff.

It's a challenge-response based email service. That request is to white list you so your emails get forwarded from spam arrest's servers to his inbox.

If you don't respond the recipient won't know you emailed him until he logs on to his spam arrest web mail.
