Is something wrong with my PS3

I just upgraded my TV several days ago from a TV that had support up to 1080i to one that has 1080p support now. So, I made the setting changes in Display Options.

However, now with the setting for 1080p checked, the tv displays "snow", starts to flicker every few seconds and the audio is choppy. It slowly gets worse as well. When I deselect 1080p from the list in Display Options, everything is fine. Is something broken?

What connection are you using? HDMI?

Have you tried:

1. Different cable?
2. Different HDMI input on TV (assuming you are using HDMI)
3. Reseating cable?

It's a Vizio XVT553SV which is a relatively new model. My Xbox 360 is working fine after making the same type setting change in Display Settings.

I'll have to try a different cable. I'm using HDMI, however, it's one of those cheap cables I got from Monoprice or someplace similar. The one I'm using for the xbox is the one that came with the Xbox360, I think. The xbox and PS3 are sharing the same HDMI port through an auto-switching HDMI-3port Hub, so i'll try taking that out of the equation this weekend.

im pretty sure the switching hub is the issue

The tv has enough hdmi ports, so I'll try hooking up everything directly to the tv tonight when I get home.

Update: Removed the HDMI switch, and everything works fine now.
