Is someone trying to hack into my computer? Help!

I looked at Zone Alarm's alerts and I'm getting: "The firewall has blocked Internet access to your computer (TCP Port xxxx) from * various ip address*", and it's going crazy. I'm getting like 5-6 per second. Is someone trying to hack me or use my IP for a DDS attack, or something like that?

Please help!

I'm thinking of unplugging my modem for a while.....it's scary!

What port is it.. It may be a known or new virus trying to spread. Unless you have reason for someone to DoS you I doubt its a random DoS

Do you have Kazaa or Morpheus running?

Port 1214 is commonly used for file exchange by applications like Morpheus and Kazaa and if you are not perhaps your node has alot of users using it that is looking for other Kazaa or Morpheus users.

I use Morpheus, but I don't have it running right now. The amounts of alerts I'm getting is unreal. The counter is running up to 500 alerts (the max, until I clear it), so fast.

Actually I don't have either of the file sharing progs and I am still getting the same alert at port 1214.

Maybe morpheus still has your ip in their database or whatever they use to keep track of that stuff and people are trying to get files off you even though its closed. Or the person that had your ip before you was running it and the same problem is happening. Maybe there is a new exploit for morpheus. Its hard to tell without packet captures (even then its not easy).
