I was showing a friend around the wonders of ATOT last night, and I was trying to show him the scroll but the links on UberNeuman's site that I found were broken. 🙁

I think everyone missed it. There was a breif discussion on AIM with everyone aiming everyone asking whether they saw what Jerboy posted and couldn't edit out quick enough.

Not that I condone being nasty to people......and he was totally out of line.....shouldn't you think long and hard before placing something into the public realm if it cannot stand public ridicule?

Case and point.......I came to the AT community and posted a thread about the fact that I had Carpenter Ants in my home. They are literally doing thousands of dollars worth of damage to my home. I assumed that people here would share honest opinions about how to deal with the problem...instead, 75% of the responses were worthless babble about carpentry and Jesus. No one got banned for that.

If I posted a picture of my beat up, old raggedy car and someone pointed out that it was a beat up, old raggedy car....shouldn't I have expected that? If I did not want something dear to me insulted...I should not place it in a public forum and ask for comments...seems like common sense to me.

Honestly, I do not know if Jerboy insulted Ulfwalds wife or home. They are both magnificent. But a permanent ban for an ignorant, childish comment? Let's all grow up!!

Yeah maybe someday he will grow up, Hey I think Paulson is one of the coolest members here but from what I understand he was a major pain back in the day.
 
He was making comments about Ufwald's interior decorating, I still don't see why he was banned. I thought he should of got another warning at least, that was pretty harsh.

Could you possibly PM me what jerboy said? Perhaps it was a comment about the interior decorating, but then there was an underlying message about Ufwald's wife or so?
 
hes still an effing tool though. Read his "update page"...obviously he is still watching anandtech trying to find fault with every little thing about the site. and the stupid thing is that he's not even right. asking how to rip a DVD doesnt implicitly mean you are violating copyright law.
 
I tend to agree with a lot of the people who say their is favoritism and such, it can't really be helped unless we somehow had mods that didnt read the forums but did 🙂. A lot of people get away with stuff others wouldn't ultimately I dont think any of us really care until we are personally cheated or feel we are cheated.

I do think the mods are just itching to get rid of some people sometimes though.

I'm not defending jerboy in anyway and i never really saw why everyone hated him the few posts i did see by him didnt seem much different from anyone else's :\

Oh well.

LOL, i love Jerboy's list of mods. If they were mods, i would have been banned long ago. I recall having VERY heated discussions with Rio Rebel to the point of nasty things being said.

I am not really suprised he cannot get over it. I'm just glad he is gone! 🙂
 
russ as an anandtech administrator, LMAO, I've met russ and seen his access logged in on the forums, he is no administrator, nor a moderator LMAO at that accusation. tho IMO he is good enough to be one. I can belive Ulfwald being one and Andyhui but the others I have no clue.

as for the Elite members getting preference or being moderators. both are false, elites lose there status and get banned like any other joe, and I'm elite yet I am not a moderator. oh brother.
