Let me start by saying this. I just upgraded from my primitive Socket A to a very stable and refined Socket 754 rig. I dont really see the need to goto Socket 939 now or in the future. Who is to say that in the next 2-3 years that AMD comes out and says that they are changing their socket again? Then what happens? Now the 939 becomes low end and there goes all the upgrade options. Heck 939 doesn't even have PCI-E yet.
What I am trying to say is that bottom line, if you need a top the line system now there is no better alternative than a 754 system. Then in 2-3 years when you are ready to upgrade again I bet you will have choices.
Thats just my 2 cents about the future of upgrading. Just get a good socket 754 with an lowend AMD64 procesor and be happy for now and then when the prices drop on the 3700+ upgrade to it. It will last you atleast 2+ years coupled with a 6800GT.
Coments please
