i'd imagine we'll move to a sort of universal basic income.

i'd say within the next 10-15 years.

We all know the answer is to provide them jobs. Unfortunately we don't have any to provide. Those have been shipped over seas. So we can't give them jobs and Glenn has stated that we shouldn't give them food either. I suspect strongly what Glenn wants us to do to them but I would like him to state it overtly. Glenn, there are no jobs for these people, what should be done?

Ah, the "Please recognize your inherent obsolesce and quietly die in a gutter" option.

We've gone to great lengths to create jobs to preserve our work for a living model of how to distribute goods & services. Much of the effort doesn't produce goods & services at all, putting the lie to the false scarcity that the system depends on to perpetuate itself.

What is the MIC if not a giant jobs program where we simply blow up what we make or bury it in the desert until we eventually scrap it?

What is the TSA & the rest of the security apparatus if not workfare for brownshirts?

What is the giant prison system if not an effort to create the shittiest jobs in America, being prisoners?

What is planned obsolescence & ever changing fashion if not job creation?

And yet our ongoing fervor for technological efficiency decreases the amount of human labor necessary to make the system work. Something's gotta give. We need a different way to look at it if we're to be truly sane.

Quit trading with communists and Islamic countries who dont share our values where possible. Make the computer people build factories in our country instead of China. If need be, buy more computers from Korea and Japan. Support free democratic countries in Asia.

Socialism already exists in the USA. Insurance is a form of socialism. Then there is Medicare and Social Security, and Welfare and food stamps. All of that is rampant socialism. If we quit some of this or just cut back on it we could save millions of dollars in this country. Not only that but when you allow businesses to have special tax deductions and credits that is also socialism. More socialism goes to Business than any other sector. Why do businesses that make money get business deductions on their taxes? Why are we paying them to have a free ride on our tax dollars?
