Is sleeping on the floor good for you back? Better for your back than sleeping on a bed?

Just curious.

After a long night of drinking, when you pass out on the floor, have you ever notice that while you have a terrible hangover and feel like crap, your back feels really good? :p

ANd it's going well for you? I've never tried it on an extended basis, just very occasional, and it didn't go over well for me. Maybe if you give it more time one can adjust.

Honestly, it feels great. Sure I wake up occasionally in pain (from sleeping on my side) :), but other than that it is fine.

Sleeping on your back is the doctor preferred way for people with back injuries to sleep.

It keeps the spinal column more aligned.

I always found sleeping on a carpet with a bean bag works the best.

I did that every time I slept over my friends when I was younger (which seriously had to be in the hundreds of times) and it was the best sleeping ever.

well I used to sleep on a futon mattress that was on the floor ... that worked pretty good ... but I cant sleep on the floor because I sleep on my stomach and most of us women that are well blessed in the chest department just cant tolerate too much much time spent on the floor like that .. its hurts ... guess thats why I like my bed soft ...

I have been sleeping on a futon on the floor for over a year now and it is great. It is this little futon thing that folds into a little beanbag size chair when you arent sleeping. Its great. Saves lots of floor space too. You can find the futon at Wal Mart I believe.
