Is SiSoft Sandra CPU ID Accurate?

I downloaded the latest version of Sandra and it says my CPU is a Celeron 566/66. It's supposed to be a Celeron 850/100. The markings on the chip are consistent with an 850. I've got it running at 952/112 at default voltage with no problems. Is Sandra accurate? Is there a better CPU ID program?

Sure there are others than Sandra. Try searching some sites for this "wcpu30d.exe" it's a great little program to report on basic hardware info especially for the CPU. Here is the link to the official site:

I've got a few others, but they aren't as good (in my opinion) as WcpuID.

WCPUID is an excellent utility to identify the processor but it will only read the processors present clockspeed it will not detect or notify you if it has been remarked or is otherwise running at other then rated clockspeed.
For Intel processor's the best means of identification would be Intel's own Processor Frequency ID Utility which will give you all the information about the default state of your processor as well as it's present state.

I guess Sandra must have some problems. The Intel utility correctly identifies the chip as an 850/100 running at 952/112. Thanks all.

I can't DL from their because it gives me the error: You can not download it from your access point. Your access point was prohibited because other member did the dishonest operation

WTF is that?!? Also, I tried running an older version I had and it REBOOTED my PC when I clicked it. Yeesh!
