I don't know about their forums, but SharkyExtreme has been dead since their primary editor left. I hardly ever visit as their is nothing new.

Very sad, but true. They went down hill very quick after they were purchased, then the big guy left and it was done. I hope Anand doesn't sell out like that.

I don't know, I thought I started dying before he left.
When they turned 3/4 of the content in to game stuff instead of Hardware.

For the amount of money he got paid; I don't think I would consider it selling out. I would consider it bettering ones self.

Yes, it's sad, really. Most of the new content at sharkyextreme disappeared after Sharky left, and another huge chunk of traffic disappeared after they closed their Off Topic forums. That really pissed a bunch of people off, and most of them went to other forums like Shawn's Computers, Combustion Junction, and this one.

They now have about 1/10th the number of new posts that Anandtech has, and internet.com has no one to blame but themselves.

Alex Ross (aka Sharky) came over to CJ last week (linky here). There's more info on there on what he's doing and the mag he works for. Sharky Forums was down for me earlier, but all is well now. SE died long ago with the leaving of Alex, Chris, Ben etc.

What was your nick at SF? Mine was/is Scuttle (I use Scuttle everywhere *nods* Unless someone has it, which has only happened on AIM so far)
