Is SBC going to offer 'naked' DSL anytime soon?

So I found this article from May of 2005 saying that SBC was planning on testing 'naked' DSL (DSL without a phoneline) last summer and roll it out wider by the end of 2005.

I haven't heard anything about it since. I'd definitely be interested in their DSL because of the price, but I don't have a landline phone and don't have any interest in having a landline phone.

Anyknow know of any plans from SBC to offer the naked service?

Don't hold your breath and if they do finally offer it you will pay a premium price over the cheap DSL they offer now with POTS.

Doesn't make much sense to me really. I'd be more than happy to give them my business on what I want, but I'm not going to give them my business on what they want to shove down my throat. Oh well. Guess I'll stick with Comcast.
