in title.

but i was just watching it and it seemed to be a relatively new episode and it got me thinking, do they shoot it live and then broadcast the taped version? or do they actually broadcast as they shoot?

I'm absolutely amazed there's still a single person who still watches it.

Painful.

It has to be shown live. Now when they replay the Ashlee Simpson snafu episode, they don't show her messing up. Of course, the day it happened, they showed it because it was totally live.
Tonight's, however, was not a current live broadcast, being a repeat from last season.

Yes this kind of thing with the president's name in the mix can trigger the DHS scanners.

It's filmed live and broadcast live.

And, that Ashlee Simpson fvck-up WAS shown on the repeat. It was just last week or the week before. I was on the phone w/a buddy at the time and we both laughed out loud at her little hoe-down move after the voice track kicked in.

I wonder if it is different depending on where you are? I watched that episode a couple weeks ago when it was on. I sat waiting and waiting for that very special jig of hers, but it never came on. I was heartbroken to say the least.

I saw that episode too, and it was her last song, the one she flubbed up on. It was great.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching her screw up.

Will Ferrel left, Ana Gasteyer left, Jimmy Fallon left, Chris Kattan left, Tracey Morgan left and are others who Im forgetting also left.

that had a huge influence on this show

people said the same thing when Chevy Chase and his generation left SNL, then they said it wehn dennis miller and his generation left.

it will always seem like it was better in the past because you only remember the good ones that go on to do better things.
