uh huh. there's no way your muscles or your lungs have enough endurance to last 12 miles. being able to run 12 miles is really only achived through months of conditioning.

It depends on what people mean by "first time" I haven't ran anything more than 2 miles since high school, but i KNOW that I could run 12 miles (not right now, but in 2 days, I just gave blood this morning) Once you learn the mind set needed to run distance, it's not hard to run any given distance if you're determined enough.

as for not being sore, that I doubt. 12 miles will make your thighs, calves, lower abdominals, shoulders, and probably lower back hurt the next day if you haven't done specific exercises to increase the endurance of these muscles for a 2 hour exercise.

There's going to be another ESPN movie to compliment "Four Minutes" called "Twelve Miles: The Tall Tale of a Phillipine Mango"

Exactly what I thought. Frees are not meant to be worn for more than ~20 minutes at a time. Running 12 miles in them would probably give you an instant stress fracture.

What are you babling about?

Anyways, well this is actually the first time I've ever really done a run like this before. I've ran, but never this far, nor this long. I work out so it's likely that working out my legs helped...

I'm talking about the fact that Nike Frees have aboslutely no support and minimal cushioning, and Nike explicitly states not to use them for long runs because your feet are not used to having such little support.

If in fact you honestly did run 12 miles on your first run, and you ran in the Frees, you must be an incredibly natural runner and have the most efficient running form known to man.

Well for the most part, I walk around barefoot when I can. I've run a mile bare foot, it's no real big deal but the thing I hate about it the most is the D*@& #F$&@ing! pebbles that get caught in my feet.. SIGHS
