is rounded IDE cables more fault tolerant than regular flat IDE cables?

or are they more or less the same? just don't feel comfortable running anything longer than 18". If rounded is more tolerant to faults, then ill get 24" rounded.

Actually, I would say that the opposite is true.

A quality flat cable should be more fault tolerant. I've never had a problem with any rounded cables that I have used, but I have never gone to 24".
