I was thinking about signing up with them so I posted a simple question about their MYSQl databases a month ago, and I never received a response.

Yes but you get what you pay for.

They have been quite reliable but again YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

BTW - YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Ok, does anyone know if your MySQL db can be accessed remotely? My current server does not allow this, and it prevents me from using dreamweaver to make my php forms.

I'm trying to say that people never listen, they only go on price alone.

In the past 3 months I have converted at least 20 former RippleHost customers to addaction.net hostpc.com midphase.com and solidinternet.com

Yeah...and he still recommends it for non-critical or personal use with the understanding that YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Meaning, support is almost non-existent.

Sorry, Ross...for speaking for ya ;)

But, fwiw, I moved my last domain from ripplehost and over to The Plan at addaction.net ($6.95/mo. but 1st 6 mos. are free)

I joined the ripplehost bandwagon and for my moderate needs it has been sufficient.

Yes but as the lowest cost web hosting solution, that's it.

If you're satisfied with that then good for you.

You definitely get what you pay for.

If you want mission critical, uber support, etc, don't go with ripplehost.

If you want a very affordable place to park a personal and/or relatively low traffic site, then it's a great alternative.

I use a ripplehost account for a small personal site and as some practice webspace.

Yeah I was there. RossMan burst through the ATOT door flashing this HUGE gun.

He was yelling and demanded everyone to sign up with RippleHost to host their lame blogs or there was going to be trouble.

i was going to call 911, but my cell didn't boot up fast enough. When it FINALLY did, I couldn't reach anyone on 911:(

Linux23 - Which did you sign up for, ripplehost (good luck) or addaction.net (good choice)?

joshsquall - Unfortunately I can't take any credit for my web site RossMANTech.com since it was a template offered by noc24.com, I did nothing it came like that right out of the box :)
