South Durham checking in.

I pay 730 a month for a 1100 Sq ft, 2 bedroom apt that is 3 minutes from The Streets at South Pointe and less than 10 minutes from RTP and my work. You can get alot cheaper, especially near the universities. Cary is a nice place but it can be pricy to live there.

Weatherwise, you get all 4 seasons here. The winters are milder here than in the western part of the state, but you do get the occasional snowfall. The humidity is pretty bad and sometimes the summer is nearly unbearable. This summer was very mild. During the humid summers you can anticipate evening thunderstorms.

Rush hour traffic on 40 and going to Chapel Hill is bad, but I've seen alot worse(Phoenix, San Diego).

If you are going to go to NC State, you might want to look at getting a place in Garner, nearby and alot cheaper than Cary. We do have excellent BBQ nearby and Char-Grill has the best burgers Evar.

Greensboro, Highpoint and Winston Salem all suck. Stick to either Charlotte or the Raleigh Durham area.

Char-Grill in Raleigh and Carolina BBQ in Garner OWN!!!!

As for Durham, if you don't mind the endless murders, it's OK 😀

If you're ever in Chapel Hill, try Allen & Sons BBQ. Best Evar!

Grew up in Raleigh and Charlotte, lived in Raleigh for a while after college, but like Charlotte better. When I worked in Raleigh I noticed a lot of dislike for Charlotte. Charlotte's county is sometimes referred to as the Great State of Mecklenburg by those in Raleigh and the eastern part of the state. Charlotte is a little different from the rest of the state. Charlotte is the number two Financial center in the US behind NYC and has some IT, but not nearly as much as the triangle. Job market is getting stronger in the past year.

I have only visited there during anand's wedding. I am sure the nFS4 and derrick could provide better feedback.

It seems like a nice town though for my 24 hours I was there.
