Is raid worth it? A7V133 vs MSI turbo

Hey, just a short question, trying to choose b/w the KT133A's, mainly the A7V133 and MSI turbo w/ or w/o on raid. Seems A7V133 is slightly faster, but is priced around $150 (shipped, pricewatch)and does not have raid. The MSI w/o raid looks around $130, with costs around $155.
So, what to do? Go cheaper and get the MSI, or get the A7V133 and spend more and not have the added luxury of raid?

If you need it, go for it.
If not, don't waste money.

And I strongly recommend not to buy abit in us, it's way overpriced here.

Raid is hella worth it IMO,

- speed
- redundancy
- spanning (combine smaller drives as one large)
- extra IDE connectors (DVD, CDRW, ZIP IDE, and a lot off HDD's)
- cost is not much more than non-raid
- better resale value in future (if you sell it)

The A7V133 does have RAID, call them and ask. Ive yet to see a A7V133 shipped without Promise RAID 0 (Though it is supposed to be optional)

....does the Asus A7V133 have raid? Sorry maybe I don't know the exact meaning of what raid is, but from a review I read, I could've sworn it mentioned only 2 IDE channels... By on-board raid I'm referring to board that has the normal 2 IDE channels plus two others controlled by raid controller chip. Thus equalling a total of 4 master IDE channels....

Yep, just put together a system a week ago with the A7V-133 and it has four IDE controllers.
