Is Radioshack a good place to get RC cars?

i'm not sure if it is a good deal, but for 20 bucks you can get a zip zap... which i hear are really popular this year.

Not real RC cars thats for sure. The ones they have there can't be fixed if they break. A real RC car, electric or nitro, can have everything replaced if broken.

Are there any good deals on RC cars there?

For basic, fun toys, yeah, the Shack is a good place to go. I still have an rc car that I got there when I was 10 (Golden Arrow). Still works, and is very fun.

But for a serious RC car, go to Tower.

I'm looking for an RC toy for my baby son.

What I'm looking for is an RC dump truck, fire engine, construction vehicle. I've only seen an RC fire engine and even that had only forward and reverse, no turning.

I can't seem to find much though.

Edit: Those are some pretty neat sites. It'd be neat to get one of those scale model cars and add blue LEDs to them as headlights if you could do it.

Which one of the 2" Mini RC cars do you guys think are the best?

MicroSizers, Zip Zaps or????

Have one now but all it says on it anywhere is "Bensu"

Thanks

If he's that young, I would suggest radio shack or maybe Toys R' Us. If you get an expensive one, you'll be wasting cash because something will happen to it. 😉

Tell me about it. I've got a trail of destruction in my house.

I had a bunch of scale model die cast cars of cars I used to own and my son just wrecked them. He broke off the tires, hood, doors, broke the windshields.

I was looking at a Fisher Price remote car for him but at $65, it's pretty expensive. I really wanted something like a dump truck or bulldozer but I can't find any.

Took some searching, but here ya go.

*edit - How old is your son??? $90 for the ones I linked above seems a bit steep for a youngin'.

Before you go spending all that cash on the mini ones a guy in the mall by us sells buy one get one free for $23. It's not the zip zap brand but they do work the same way! I suppose that won't help you since you may not live in Bham, but try your local mall - some stand in the main part - for cheaper alternatives.

Wow! Thanks for the link Bunker! I couldn't find anything on yahoo.

He is 2.5 years old. I'm not looking to spend too much on it. $40 max. I'll check out that $35 truck.
