I play online games fine with what i got. My question is will i see a big difference in the games such as color, special effects and such"just not frame rate ++" i wonder is it worth $400 and why, some reasons please. Thank you. By the way my sys can handle the 9800 pro.

the 9800 will allow u to run higher resolution with better quality settings. and it'll probably be faster too. if u can afford the $400 video card, and play games that can use such a powerful card, then yes it is worth it.

The 9800 will run the games you are playing with Anti-aliasing and Aniso faster than what the 7200 does without. Turning on AA and anios will make a big difference in image quality. The 7200 also does not support pixel shaders. You will get much better visuals in games that use pixel shaders that you won't be able to see with the 7200. This includes dx8 games as well as dx9 games.

The upgrade from a Ti4600 to a 9700 Pro is more than worth it so the upgrade from a 7200 to a 9800 will totally blow you out of the water.

With a faster video card you can crank up the eye candy and get better performance than your old card at the same time.

I went from a GF3 TI500 to a 9800 Pro, and dizzam. Even with 6x AA and 16x AF, its still faster.

I would never spend $400 on any video card period and I can afford it ,but hey that`s me,nobody would argue you will not see better FPS etc ,you did say you can play online games just fine, right? I would think a more sensible solution would be a 9500 Pro or 9600.

What it really comes down too is do you want and really need to spend $400 or would a cheaper solution be wiser choice? Your call ;).

I went from a GeForce2 Ti to the Radeon 9500 Pro, and the difference was stunning (both visually and for speed). However, I also upgraded my son's GeF2 Ti to a Radeon 8500LE and that looked pretty good too (everything is relative :).

Frankly, you won't see a graphical difference between the 9500/9600 Pro and 9700/9800 Pro ... the only real difference is in framerates with all the eye candy turned on. Besides, only a current top-of-the-line system will take full advantage of a 9700/9800 pro's speeds. As such, I would second the suggestion of a 9500/9600 Pro card.
