Is R7-240 the minimum requirement with full Crimson driver support?

HELP, is there anything cheaper than R7-240 that has full, official Radeon Crimson driver support? I'm trying to order a ASRock 970M board, but still have trouble finding the right low-cost card. I can't believe R5-230 doesn't qualify and still listed under legacy page, despite the R5 newest name and ends up being a marketing scam. How much higher-end model I need to go without breaking my bank? Shame on AMD.

http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop/legacy?product=legacy3&os=Windows+10+-+64

So, what's the least-expensive official Windows 10 graphics card I can buy with full Crimson driver support? What's the successor model to HD5450 or R5-230?

Outside of graphics card, E1-2100 mobile processor qualifies for full Crimson support, while A10-6800K FM2 doesn't. Sad... :'(

Anything with GCN, that dates back to 2011.

GCN started to be sold in January 2012 (7900, followed by 7800 and 7700s on the next month I think)
everything from 2011 is on legacy Crimson

basically any AMD GPU newer than the 7970 that is not a rebrand will support regular Crimson and DX12.

from AMD, I would think the cheapest GPU (excluding IGPs) with GCN is indeed the r7 240, unless you can find something like a 7730 for even less, which is probably not the case.

r5 230 is a 6450, so no, it's legacy.

Yup, I can confirm the r7 240 does support Crimson driver updates. I hope you're not using it for new games being released

Not impressed. I've been using the supplied, FREE Radeon HD3000 in Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 board for too long now. This board with HDMI is a good excuse to avoid buying a separate graphics card.

If you're actually using the graphics card for anything, the r5 230 is an absolute turd. Better off with integrated graphics on any modern process than with that.

What's the previous model released in 2012-2013 before R7-240 come out in 2014? Is R7-240 part of HD-8000 series?

I got my in laws a 5000 series since that was the lowest support for Win10 drivers and then 2 months later crimson came out and this card only got the original release drivers. Doh!
