Yes and no. They have a caomparison on the site, but I dont know how up to date it is. Its fairly secure, very fast, looks easy to setup, and Ive heard some good things about it. Of course there is no native OpenBSD 3.0 port (last I heard), but there is a work around, and the pricetag I saw was alittle out of my range. $1700 I think for one license. Its not open source and obviously not free, but it seems to be a good solution.

I´v been looking at their site, it seems promising, but then I look on netcraft and it isnt exactly widely used.

I realy like apache except for the tiny bit of missing an administrative gui.

No, its not. But OpenBSD isnt all that popular either, and I wouldnt use anything else unless I needed SMP, which is doubtful.

What about using FreeBSD (my friend is like its biggest fan 😉) or NetBSD? what so good about openbsd?

And... vi realy SUCKS, worst text editor ever. Currently I just use notpade as my Administrative gui on Apache 😉

I like OpenBSD the best. Ive never used NetBSD, but its more of an academic project. FreeBSD is fine, but I didnt like the direction it was going. I tried OpenBSD, it was small, quick, clean, secure, and stable and I got attatched real quick.

You say vi is the worst text editor ever and then you say you use notepad? Bah! vi is great for drunk people because just like vi drunk people dont make any sense. vi does what I want and has plenty of power. Plus you would be hard pressed to find a GOOD OS that does not have vi installed by default. A few nasty OSes have it there by default too.

Nice, I might try it out someday. Still I´m a ahemm.. microsoft man because that is what I´m most used to, so win2k or nt4 for every server here 😉

I just use notepad because when I click on the conf file it comes up, has everything I need, open, edit and save. I dont need to open up another console and type in man vi just to figure out how to save the darn file 😛
