It depends on what you like. I'm not fond of the superhero dramas where the characters are not really portrayed to be imbued with some sort of supernatural ability but still are able to do superhuman things. I like my superhero's to actually have been allegedly exposed to a weird experimental radiation, or insect venom, genetic engineering, alien insemination, and it's explained in the story line. e.g.
John Reese (played by Jim Caviezel): a middle-aged former military commando-turned-CIA officer/agent who is built more like a soccer player. He's like a martial arts expert, with amazing sense of timing and good luck, who can kick the ass of even other credentialed bad-asses 20 years younger than him. Multiple bad-asses at once. He does bleed and can get shot, by a rifle, in the torso, but heals in a matter of days or weeks and is just as bad-ass as before. I'm just not into this sort of character who is FAR superior and tougher and lucky than even the best among the best of real humans, with no explanation for it.
Harold Finch (played by Michael Emerson): Even less believable, though we are more accepting of 'superhuman smarts' without having to explain it by aliens or radiation, than we are the physical prowess, sixth senses, and ass-kickery, right? This TV series is set in the present day, but this guy supposedly designs a proprietary supercomputer with REELY advanced AI that is impossible in the present day. On and he did it practically by himself, along with his friend/colleague, so at most two principle designers/engineers. But to make sure we can accept it, they throw in that he is a reclusive billionaire genius. And what else does a reclusive billionaire genius have to do, since we know he isn't going on dates or having a social life? Oh and he's a hacker, too. Hacks everything; cars, phones, NYPD, security systems, encryption, etc.
The Machine: blah blah blah
