A guy I know has been hyping this up and I just watched the trailer for season 1, meh and then I saw it was on CBS and that is a very big MEH. So, is it worth a watch?

I really like the show. Loads of action, killing, wounding and conspiracy theories running amok.

Yeah. Ignore the fact that it's on CBS. Ignore the men too, it's worth watching for Sarah Shahi and Amy Acker.

Season 1 marathon right now... I got hooked on it last last summer when they showed reruns of season 2.

One of the highest rated dramas on TV right now.

Yes its worth a watch.

Its a really well done show, good acting, good story line, hasn't jumped the shark.

Its one of the few shows I really like to watch.

I agree. Season 1 is kick-ass. Season 2 is great but odd and season 3 is really strange but ties up some loose ends.

So far season 4 is great.

I thought the premise was dumb, but it ended up being decent. You just have to get past the concept of the all knowing godlike machine.

I thought the first season was very good, and then it started going downhill, and now this new season is looking pretty weak with "the machine" and "samaritan" battling it out etc. Kind of goofy, but still somewhat entertaining.

Of course, one part you'll have to buy into is the whole "yes, give me 7 minutes, I need to hack into this master encrypted super secure NSA database!" routine, that happens pretty much every show.

Yea...its not nearly as bad as some shows. Plus they can get away with it, since the whole premise of the show is out there. If there are super computers who know when we are going to die, then why can't someone hack the NSA main frame from their cell phone in a cab?

Also, Sarah Shahi :p

It's a lot more believable in a world where one of the main characters is a computer super genius that built the world's first A.I., is a billionaire who owns many software companies, created social networking, etc. And it's not some child prodigy or young adult, this guy has been around for a while. Obviously still make-believe, but more believable.

Funny that the show was created before the NSA scandal became common knowledge. Instead of a machine, you just have cube farms full of "analysts" going through everyone's data.

And they really did a good job making Sarah Shahi look boring/plain. I remember her on Fairly Legal and damn...

Meh it has a ton of kneecapping.

What more can you ask for? ;)

I started watching in season 2 and I thought they never killed anyone... Just finished watching most of season 1 and holy shit does the body count pile up.

When I first saw the title, I was momentarily intrigued because I thought it would be about a banker superhero named Person of Interest.

I was so let down when I found out it was just another stiffly stylized construction from a bunch of network suits desperately trying to reel in the comic book generation with Matlock level character development and Die Hard 27 level plot lines before they wandered off forever into that dark pit of cum splotched keyboards, donkey porn, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

But then, life is full of minor disappointments . . .

It depends on what you like. I'm not fond of the superhero dramas where the characters are not really portrayed to be imbued with some sort of supernatural ability but still are able to do superhuman things. I like my superhero's to actually have been allegedly exposed to a weird experimental radiation, or insect venom, genetic engineering, alien insemination, and it's explained in the story line. e.g.

John Reese (played by Jim Caviezel): a middle-aged former military commando-turned-CIA officer/agent who is built more like a soccer player. He's like a martial arts expert, with amazing sense of timing and good luck, who can kick the ass of even other credentialed bad-asses 20 years younger than him. Multiple bad-asses at once. He does bleed and can get shot, by a rifle, in the torso, but heals in a matter of days or weeks and is just as bad-ass as before. I'm just not into this sort of character who is FAR superior and tougher and lucky than even the best among the best of real humans, with no explanation for it.

Harold Finch (played by Michael Emerson): Even less believable, though we are more accepting of 'superhuman smarts' without having to explain it by aliens or radiation, than we are the physical prowess, sixth senses, and ass-kickery, right? This TV series is set in the present day, but this guy supposedly designs a proprietary supercomputer with REELY advanced AI that is impossible in the present day. On and he did it practically by himself, along with his friend/colleague, so at most two principle designers/engineers. But to make sure we can accept it, they throw in that he is a reclusive billionaire genius. And what else does a reclusive billionaire genius have to do, since we know he isn't going on dates or having a social life? Oh and he's a hacker, too. Hacks everything; cars, phones, NYPD, security systems, encryption, etc.

The Machine: blah blah blah

I've watched PoI since S1/E1. IMO, it was MUCH better for the first two seasons than it has been since. We still watch the show, but it's slowly deteriorating. Amy Acker needs to be shot in the face with that AT-4 from last week's episode. She's fucking annoying.

That's exactly the consensus here. 1st season was good because there were still things unexplained and more left to mystery. But once they started 'unfurling' the story more, filling in more details and adding new players.........BOMBS AWAY!

My wife has been watching it and likes it but I dont like it. It is one of those shows where everything wraps up in one episode and it is not compelling at all. I have seen worse tv for sure but it isnt anything I will watch
