Is pc2700 required to get a 1.8a@2.4, does it help get you there?

I've seen a few posts of people that have gotten their 1.8a's stable at 2.4 with pc2100 which is what I'm running (Crucial). Will I have to go up to pc2700 to hit 2.4???

I know about all the other factors relating to the overclosk and that no chip gaurantess 2.4 blah blah

I'm just asking it 2100 will do the trick or if buying 2700 will help

thanks

If this helps, my crucial DDR2100 256 meg stick is currently running 176 (Zero errors in memtest86). I am running a 132fsb with 3:4 CPU/Memory setting. So no it is really very good memory. I also was running it at 150fsb 1:1 timing at 2 2 2 5, so it is very decent.

You don't have to go to PC2700 if your PC2100 can OC that far. My 512Mb sticks of Crucial wouldn't go past 311Mhz, BUT - they have Infineon chips on them. I don't know if the real Micron chips clock higher. There's certainly lots of folks who can get their Crucial RAM running faster than I can. Do they have Micron chips on theirs?
