Is P3 1Ghz 133 BUS the fastest I can run on my Asus CUSL2-C ?

I have not been in the building/upgrading mode for a while and I cannot figure out these new intel procesors and motherboards. Any way I can upgrade to MORE than 1 Ghz with this Asus CUSL2-C MB (or do I need to tade in for a new MB to get to the 1.5-1.9 Ghz stuff). the P3 1 Gig does not help much since I am running my P3700 at 933.

The fastest non-Tualatin processors are the Pentium III 1.1GHz and Celeron 1.1GHz. Not much of an improvement really.

You will need to go to a Tualatin supporting motherboard if you want to stay with the Pentium III architecture....I suggest the TUSL2-C (it's exactly the same as the CUSL2-C, but with Tualatin support), or you will pretty much need to go a full trade in for a Pentium 4 supporting system.

I'm sure someone will also chime in about switching to an AMD processor as well.

if you can find a 1GHz p3 100fsb, you may be able to o/clock it to 124 or even 133fsb.
one member here runs his 1GHz p3 at over 1.4GHz!

Wha ASUS MB would I buy to use the P4's over 1.6 Ghz and NOT have to buy the really expensive RAM ? I guess I better start looking into this stuff again becuase I am way behind the curve on memory MB's and CPU's :)

I'm in the exact same boat, same board. Got'a 566 at 850.

Hey, there's the P3 1.1 flipchip 100FSB. Why wouldn't that work guys? If ten's the limit multiplyer, will a $150 P3 1.1 underclock to a 10 multiplier (for us on a budget)? Then maybe push it to 133 or so, 1.33ghz?

Mmmm. Oh yea. I haven't been paying attention to the OC issues lately as I wasn't in the market. Forgot about that. I guess this is just going to be another relatives PC here shortly.
