They're letting Firstsource.com handle retail sales in exchange for a $2 million "investment" by Onvia in Firstsource.

They're expecting to layoff a bunch of employees because of the deal, but I don't know when they'll actually turn things over to Firstsource.

Sorry, but it is true. :(

<< Business-to-business e-tailer and content provider Onvia.com said this week it would cut its workforce nearly in half, as they turn over the online selling portion of their business to Firstsource Corp.

With a $2 million investment by Onvia, Firstsource will take over all operational, management and fulfillment duties, establishing a new website that will still maintain Onvia's name. Firstsource CEO Dave Hagan said Onvia customers would see an immediate benefit, as the number of products available will increase by sixfold, to more than 240,000.

Like I said, I've no idea when it will officially happen though.

There was no way it could last. They were basically doing the legwork to get Ingram Micro's products and pricing tier to the consumer at their expense. And free shipping? Ack!

I hope not yet. I just placed an order online.

They just refuse to answer their phone.
