I'm all in favor of taking back our jobs from China, but not going to war with them. First it was deploying a carrier or two, now he says Asia it's going to be our focus.

I suppose that would be one way of taking care of our national debt....

Agreed, its only a matter of tme before there is a conflict between Red China and the United States. I dont believe for a second that Red China will displace America. Good for President Obama!!!! Have to admit, im not his biggest fan, but I am glad he is focusing on that area. Red China is more and more bullying her neighbors and trying to claim all the trade route waters as her own. Again I say. Bravo President Obama!!!

Yes because throwing down and killing people is much better than maybe taking a pay downgrade, lowering our standards slightly and working hard to prove we are just as good or better than they are. Fuck putting the nose to the grind stone right? Blowing shit up way easier.

Yes I do, but I was addressing carriers specifically as mentioned in the OP. China should know they will always be there backing up our buddies Japan, Taiwan, S. Korea, etc..

I don't see a full blown war with China happening any time soon. America and China are so intertwined that it is in no ones interest to war with the other, we're too interdependent. They can blow up our economy by calling out all the debt of ours they own, but if they did they would blow up their own economy in the process as we're their biggest customer by a country wide mile. Despite this, I see no reason to allow ourselves to be pushed around in squabbles. They push us, we should push back. They try to hack us, we show them our hackers are no slouches either. They build an air craft carrier to show strength, we stick ten in their back yard.

Quite true. I'd hate to have to compete with the man who is otherwise facing starvation, much less the fourteen year old who can get by on 1000 rice calories a day.

Heck no, Obama is all talk and no action as usual. If he really means business, he should have taken action to do something about the RMB valuation, the US China trade tariff. He should have taken action when China was having dispute with neighbors on Spartly Island. He should have taken action in arming Taiwan against Chinese aggression.

Those are the real things that would pissed China off. But Obama in his usual talker self, knows he need to say something to appease US anti-Chinese sentiment now, so talk he did, and not much else/tangible is done.

If he wanted to piss them off, then he should sell export versions of the F-35 to Taiwan and the F-22 to Japan and South Korea. Those countries would love to buy those goodies and America could use the jobs.
