Worst, no. With the exception of the ridiculous Rube Goldberg Obamacare law he's not really done much of consequence except for adding a few trillion of new debt for dubious "stimulus" plans quickly and properly abandoned. His best feature was the one probably least appreciated by those who elected him - he had a George H.W. Bush type presidency with no huge crises and no real transformation which is a good thing. Like Bush Sr. he didn't really move the ball for his party's pet causes very much (or really try even). 20 years from now people will struggle to remember anything beyond one or two things they did (Gulf War in one case, Obamacare in the other).

And no, he's not responsible for Trump. What you're seeing with Trump started with the populist rise after TARP that that ultimately became the Tea Party. But the GOP establishment was able to hop on and grab the reigns and keep it going in generally the direction they wanted even if they weren't in complete control. But that beast is loose now. And that's entirely because over the past 35 years the GOP has been doing less and less for the rural blue collar types that are the core of their voting block.

Passing the biggest health care reform law ever? No one talks about transformative laws in history class!
Killed the top terrorist in US history? He's a nobody former president Bush said so!
Getting equal rights for gays? No one will remember that!
Getting Iran to sign a nuclear deal? That's child's play!
Signing on to a global climate initiative? No big deal, if this planet dies there are like a bazillion more we can go to!
Normalizing relations with Cuba? It's a small insignificant country, history books already don't talk about the tiny country's US relationship!
All while governing with the most obstructionist, do nothing congress ever? No one remembers the worst congress, it's not like it's taught in history class!

Oh and he was the first black president, something I'm sure the history books will simply whitewash! /s

The GOP is a hate group linked and conspiring with large corporations and banks.

Those same corporations and banks are now attempting to buy democrats as well, as they see the loss of influence and control of the GOP due to the changing racial makeup of America.

Obama is a moderate who is possibly more conservative than Reagan in some ways.

I would consider him one of the better presidents. Far from the worst, not quite the best, but close.

What exactly would you have Republicans (or Democrats for that matter) "do for" those rural blue collar types?
 
It's hard to choose the "worst" President. You have Andrew Jackson who ignored a Supreme Court order in regards to Indian relocation and the Trail of Tears. You have Nixon who committed treason in regards to Vietnam before he came in office (and of course the scandal that got him kicked out and so many other horrible things he did). You have Reagan who committed treason while in office with the Iran Contra (there's a shit ton of other crappy things, but treason tops the list). You have the Japanese internment with FDR (no matter how much else good he did, this is hard to overcome). And of course you have good ol Dubya and the too many to count idiotic things (none of which are as bad individually as the things listed before, but they add up when there's just so fucking many).

Honestly Obama could probably rank in the top 15 Presidents of all time just for how well he did despite the single most obstructive opposition party in American history and for how well he got us out of the second worst financial crisis in the nation's history. Top 10 might be pushing it.

Though it is amusing that 3 Presidents who should absolutely be in the top 10 (maybe even top 5) worst of all time are 3 of the last 5 Republican Presidents (the previously mentioned Reagan, Nixon, and Bush 2).

Just to name a few: manufacturing jobs have been increasing under Obama since the great recession. The ACA has helped lower the percent of people who have had trouble paying their medical bills. Obamas H.A.R.P. Program has helped kept people from losing their homes and allowed them to refinance and take advantage of lower rates despite being under water.
And here is one specifically for rural blue collar folks (because I didn't see rural was specified): solar power grants and loans for farmers.

History will remember Obama as one of the most accomplished presidents of all time. His detractors have been repeating how bad he is for so long that they cant even articulate why they think that. What measure could one possibly use to make such a case?
 
The poll is dumb, there is a lot of territory between "the worst of all time" and "he's quite good". How about he's terrible and one of the worst, but not the absolute worst.

In my lifetime I have seen presidents (in order): Reagan, Bush, Clinton, George Double eww, and Obama.

Based on my observations and my family being rather unconcerned with politics and never teaching me to be republican or democrat. I just noticed that everything sucks when a republican gets into office, they find a way to allow the rich to steal as much as possible from the poor, and then get poor fools to vote for them for "other reasons" (mostly hatred and ignorance) then blame all the problems they caused on the democrats, who then get into office, fix everything, and then the republicans say "OMG everything is RUINED now!! Look what you've done!!" then they wreck everything again steal money from the poor, and oppress everyone who isnt a "likely GOP voter".

From that observation, and the fact that I dont strongly hate non white people, I decided to be a democrat. And no ones perfect, and there is corruption there too, but they are trying to do whats right instead of attempting to concentrate wealth with the 1% and make the rest of us slaves.

Btw republicans, you see how the banks and corporations are trying to buy the democrats now? Thats cuz they know you are done.... 😉

Cuz the 1% should be paying that, but their plan is to bankrupt the government to increase their own power while reducing the ability of the government to keep things fair. So they can rule, Like they used to...
